ABC Orchestra traveled to Scotland, UK March 31-April 7 2017. The group, consisting of 20 students and 6 adults spent time in Edinburgh and Inverness, with a stop in Stirling as well. Throughout the week, students did sight-seeing, shopping, tasting the local cuisine (even Haggis!), and 6 performances in the 6 days they were there. Performances included: Ross Theater; an outdoor venue at the Princes Gardens outside of Edinburgh Castle, St. Giles Cathedral, Charleston Academy; A secondary school just outside of Inverness, The Hootenanny Club, a music venue known for their traditional music sessions and great Celtic groups, and of course Stirling Castle.
Aside from performing students were given a chance to see the Royal Mile to do some shopping, they hiked up to the peak of Arthur’s seat, cruised Loch Ness in search of the famous Loch Ness Monster, and toured the famous Edinburgh Castle high atop the Royal Mile.
The trip was a great success, and students were able to experience the culture, food, and music that they have been studying for a year now. For more pictures or information, please check out ABC’s instragram @ABCOrchestraOfficial or our Facebook page facebook.com/abcorchestraofficial
